The Trump Justice Department acknowledged over the weekend that it had removed from its website all news releases related to the January 6th criminal cases — including charges, convictions, and sentencings — calling the prosecutions “partisan propaganda” and saying it was “proud” to remove them.

The purge was first noticed Friday when a journalist observed on social media that the DOJ was quietly removing the releases.

The department’s rapid response account pushed back on the word “quietly.”

“We are proud to reverse the DOJ’s weaponization under the Biden administration,” the post read. “We will do everything in our power to make whole those who were persecuted for political purposes. This includes stripping DOJ’s website of partisan propaganda.”

Among the releases removed were those documenting seditious conspiracy cases against members of the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers — far-right extremist groups convicted of coordinating the attack on the Capitol.

The DOJ also moved Friday to formally dismiss those seditious conspiracy cases entirely, after an appeals court vacated the convictions last week at the department’s own request.

Trump pardoned all 1,500-plus people charged with January 6th crimes on his first day back in office — including those convicted of attacking officers with flagpoles, hockey sticks, and crutches.

His Justice Department then announced the $1.776 billion Anti-Weaponization Fund, potentially making those same rioters eligible for taxpayer payments.

Acting Attorney General Blanche has not ruled out that people convicted of violence will receive payouts.

The convictions are being vacated. The cases are being dismissed. The taxpayer fund is being set up to potentially pay the rioters.

And now the Justice Department has scrubbed its own website of every record of what those people did.

On Memorial Day weekend.
