One Russian Shahed-type drone — the same kind that air defenses in the Middle East are struggling with — costs about $70,000, according to Ukrainian intelligence estimates for drones produced at Russia’s Alabuga plant.
The value of the oil effectively unlocked by the Trump administration’s decision — roughly 120 million barrels — exceeds $9 billion.
That is enough money to produce about 128000 Shahed-type drones.
And ultimately, all of this is directed against Ukraine.
The calculation is obviously very rough, but it helps illustrate the scale.
