Words matter. When we’re conscious of how we use them, we have the power to change culture.
I used to say “lost my virginity” … as if I lost some proverbial piece of my womanhood that no longer meant I was worthy. But what did I lose? I had an experience that was exciting, expansive, and evolutionary! If anything, it was a gain.
It took practice to break the articulation habit, but now I say “the first time I had sex” … and it wasn’t something I gave up, but rather a shared experience with another.
Anyway, I had sex for the first time with a guy I met on AOL Member Directory when we all used dial-up. 🤓
What’s your first time story?!
