So many wackadoodles are claiming the world is headed for Armageddon right now

So, based in research ( not claiming I actually believe in it, but wanting to help clarify the timing based on textual evidence alone. ) Also realizing that there are many “interpretations” (which SHOULD be a clue to thinking, rational individuals)

Here is a time line to refute the assertion that some particular “world leader” is “chosen” to bring on a rapture…

Biblical End-Times Timeline

the major events as described across Revelation, Daniel, Matthew 24, and other prophetic texts:

1. The Church Age & Signs of the End

∙ Increase in wars, famines, earthquakes, and pestilence (Matthew 24:6–8)

∙ Rise of false prophets and widespread apostasy

∙ Gospel preached to all nations (Matthew 24:14)

2. The Rapture (Pre-Tribulation view)

∙ Believers caught up to meet Christ in the air (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17)

∙ Occurs suddenly, “like a thief in the night”

∙ Note: Some traditions place this mid- or post-Tribulation

3. The Tribulation (7 Years — Daniel’s 70th Week)

First Half (3.5 years) — “Birth Pangs”

∙ Rise of the Antichrist — a global political/religious leader

∙ A peace covenant signed with Israel (Daniel 9:27)

∙ Opening of the 7 Seals (Revelation 6):

∙ White horse (conquest), Red (war), Black (famine), Pale (death)

∙ Martyrdom of saints, cosmic disturbances

Second Half (3.5 years) — “The Great Tribulation”

∙ Antichrist breaks the covenant and desecrates the Temple — the Abomination of Desolation (Daniel 9:27, Matthew 24:15)

∙ 7 Trumpet Judgments (Revelation 8–11): hail/fire, seas turn to blood, darkness, demonic plagues

∙ Mark of the Beast (666) — required for commerce (Revelation 13:16–18)

∙ 7 Bowl/Vial Judgments (Revelation 16): sores, oceans/rivers turn to blood, scorching heat, darkness, the Euphrates dries up

∙ Two Witnesses prophesy, are killed, and resurrected (Revelation 11)

∙ Global persecution of Israel and remaining believers

4. The Battle of Armageddon

∙ Nations gathered to the Valley of Megiddo (Revelation 16:16)

∙ Final assault on Jerusalem

∙ Second Coming of Christ — descends on the Mount of Olives (Zechariah 14:4, Revelation 19:11–16)

∙ Antichrist and False Prophet cast into the Lake of Fire (Revelation 19:20)

∙ Satan bound for 1,000 years (Revelation 20:1–3)

5. The Millennial Kingdom (1,000 Years)

∙ Christ reigns on earth from Jerusalem (Revelation 20:4–6)

∙ Resurrected saints rule with him

∙ Peace across nations; wolf lies with the lamb (Isaiah 11:6)

∙ Temple rebuilt; Israel restored to prominence

6. Final Rebellion & White Throne Judgment

∙ Satan released; leads one final rebellion — Gog and Magog (Revelation 20:7–9)

∙ Devoured by fire from heaven; Satan cast into the Lake of Fire forever

∙ Great White Throne Judgment — all the dead judged by their works (Revelation 20:11–15)

∙ Anyone not in the Book of Life cast into the Lake of Fire (second death)

7. Eternity — The New Creation

∙ Present heaven and earth “pass away” (Revelation 21:1)

∙ New Heaven and New Earth created

∙ New Jerusalem descends — a city of gold and light (Revelation 21:2)

∙ God dwells directly with humanity — no more death, tears, or pain (Revelation 21:4)

∙ The river of life and tree of life restored (Revelation 22:1–2)

∙ Eternal communion between God and his people

Note: Significant interpretive differences exist among Christians — particularly around the Rapture’s timing, the nature of the Millennium (literal vs. symbolic), and whether some prophecies are yet future or were fulfilled in 70 AD (Preterist view). This outline reflects the most widely held Premillennial Dispensationalist framework.
