Had time for two full album listens this year so far, working up to one a day. Hopefully I’ll squeeze out a write-up on one once a month. I’m making a conscious decision not to listen based on reviews. The time has come for music mags to stop raking artists over the coals for not meeting their creative expectations. There is certainly room for criticism, but it should focus on exploration of the work itself, not an arbitrary numerical rating.
