In a world where dehumanization has become normalized and compassion is suppressed as policy, the very act of feeling compassion is political. It is, in fact, a radical return to the root.

Compassion reminds us that “the enemy” is someone’s child. That the mother on the other side of the wall feels exactly what I think. That life does not begin with hatred; hatred is created, cultivated, and weaponized.

Those in power understand the danger of compassion. That is precisely why they try to silence it.
