If you’re lucky enough never to have heard of Ash Sarkar and Novara (the publication she writes for), they were the red guard of wokeness - its most slapstick, droid-like enforcers. They built careers whipping up its most authoritarian, cultish excesses. Sarkar became well known after screaming ‘I’m literally a communist!’ at Piers Morgan on national TV. Anyway, now the tide has turned, and the groupthink has shifted, they’re trying to re-write themselves out of that history. To pretend they were never on board with the neo-racism and prudish, censorious outrage culture to begin with. These people are absolutely shameless. I predicted we’d see this all the way back in 2020 but it’s still staggering to watch them fleeing the ship in real time.

Luckily, I have the receipts! Here she is putting on a fake working class accent and asserting that ‘the presence of white people automatically means the presence of racism’. Elsewhere she’s compared ‘whiteness’ to the refraction of light and delivered monologues on the way it relates to Newtonian physics, defended people who drew anti-‘Zionist’ graffiti on the Warsaw ghetto (yes, you read that correctly), whined on and on about ‘the unbearable whiteness of Brexit’, called ethnic minority individuals she disagrees with ‘racial gatekeepers’. I could list hundreds upon hundreds of other exemples.

Don’t let these people off the hook.
