On my way to Alligator Alcatraz with my friend @arianneee_ whose father is being held there illegally. He had a work permit and was following all the steps being asked of him. He was abducted when showing up for his check in, following the legal process that was asked of him. He’s 55 years old and has physical and mental health issues including extreme diabetic issues and needs insulin twice a day.

He wasn’t given insulin the first month that he was held. Right now he spends his days chained to a hospital bed, restrained by his hands and feet. He’s lost 30 pounds while in custody and says he has hunger pangs. The food they are given is barely enough to survive and some don’t.

Alligator Alcatraz has no indoor plumbing, the food and water are subpar and unsafe, the grounds and even the building flood when it rains heavily. Sometimes the water comes up to the beds.

There are people being held here on oxygen. Even quadrapalegics being held here in concentration camp-like conditions.

1,800 people previously held here are missing. Literally missing to the point that their families have no contact with them and no way of knowing where they are or how to find out. Even their attorneys have no way of knowing where they are or how to help them. Some have been sent to El Salvador or even the concentration camps in places like Uganda.

Ariann’s dad was taken to the Mexican border and ICE wanted to essentially force him into mexico (he left Cuba when he was 13 and was brought to the USA by the @americanredcross ). Mexico said he was too ill to enter and he was sent back. He has witnessed 2 people die in front of him during his ICE custody and also witnessed a third take their own life.

THIS IS WHAT MAGA WANTS. THIS IS WHO MAGA IS. THIS IS THEIR CHRISTIANITY. THIS IS THEIR PATRIOTISM. IF ONLY THEY HATED PEDOPHlLES AS MUCH AS THEY HATE THIS FATHER OF 3 U.S. CITIZENS.
