My friend Mark Kelly is a great American, a true patriot, and one of the finest Senators serving our country today. A Navy combat veteran and former astronaut, he has spent his life serving this country with honor.

Pete Hegseth’s ridiculous attempt to strip Mark of his military retirement pay was a total and complete disgrace. It was an attempt to punish and intimidate a decorated veteran for speaking out and standing up for the Constitution he swore to defend. No American, and certainly no veteran, should ever face retaliation for exercising their First Amendment rights.

The court’s decision rejecting this shameful attempt is a victory not just for Mark, but for every service member and every American who believes in the rule of law.
