The app for independent voices

A charity single for Palestine has topped the UK charts, becoming the best-selling download of Christmas week. It surpassed some of the biggest names in global music—from Taylor Swift to Ed Sheeran—raising tens of thousands of pounds for Gaza in the process.

The song is called "Lullaby," and it is a reimagined version of the traditional Palestinian folk song Yamma Mweel El Hawa (O song of longing, mother).

The project, organized by Together For Palestine, brought together legends like Brian Eno and contemporary voices like Celeste and Leigh-Anne to raise tens of thousands of pounds for Gaza. Every download supports the life-saving work of NGOs like Taawon, PCRF, and PMRS.

In the midst of a news cycle that often feels like it's designed to break us, this single headline gave me a small, necessary moment of joy this evening.
