Instead of asking how we can be more human, or a better human, or the next human, perhaps the point is to free ourselves from this pursuit altogether, as it reeks of the neoliberal, capitalist, and anthropocentric binary mentality and culture that has led us to this mess in the first place. Modernity, in short, will keep holding us within its constraints.
