Shared Wisdom: Forgiveness

“Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”

Luke 23:34

“Let them pardon and overlook. Would you not love for Allah to forgive you?”

Different traditions. Different centuries. Same struggle.

Most of us think forgiveness means letting someone off the hook.

I’m not sure that’s true.

A lot of the time forgiveness is finally deciding you’re tired of carrying something heavy that no longer protects you.

Maybe forgiveness changes the other person.

But it always changes you. That’s the point.
