Make money doing the work you believe in
“If he don’t love you anymore
Just walk your fine ass out the door.”
-Lizzo
"He" being whatever's outstayed its welcome in your life.
Maybe it’s an identity you’re outgrowing.
Or a responsibility whose cost-benefit analysis no longer comes out in your favor.
Or a “self-care” habit you picked up from peer or media pressure but doesn’t actually provide relief.
When our efforts don’t ‘love’ us any more — that is, don’t create the rewards they used to — maybe we’ve hit the ceiling of diminishing returns.
The subtraction might be leaving, dropping the habit, or letting go of an outgrown identity.
So we can see clearly what else we might do instead. Or that we’re already doing enough without adding anything back.
