At this point, I genuinely don’t know what the word ceasefire means anymore. It feels like language itself has lost all meaning.
Why am I saying this? Because I always thought a “ceasefire” meant that the fire stops.
But apparently, in the Middle East, a ceasefire is when everyone officially announces that the shooting has stopped… while people are still suffer from drone alerts in the Galilee, political arguments on TV, and politicians pretending this is somehow can be called “stability.”
And honestly, the most absurd part is that we are now apparently inside a new ceasefire that was announced during another ceasefire, which itself was announced during a previous ceasefire that never actually ended. Or never existed in the first place.
At this point, reality itself is starting to sound more satirical than any of my comic strips.
