Trump’s ascension should be seen in the light of an oligarchical scramble for power.
Musk, Ellison, and Thiel purchased Trump like a stock while his share price was low with shady behind-the-scenes deals: in return for their financial, social media and other support Trump will assist in the implementation of the extremely nasty and ugly Palantir security state spy system over Americans, where Musk/Ellison/Thiel will financially benefit from it. Trump is trying to distract from this with the Greenland “purchase”, “Gulf of America”, Panama Canal and other nonsense.
Bezos and Zuckerberg, among others, were caught flat-footed by the move by their competitors and they are scrambling to play catch up, although they are both in the back of the bus. This is why Bezos vocally chastised the Washington Post, which he owns, and why Zuckerberg is trying to do a fake and gay “based” rebrand. They don’t want to get punished by their oligarchical competition.
In tech terms, It’s like they’re in the C Round and will only get 8% of the common while Thiel/Musk/Ellison get 80% for leading the angel, A and B rounds.
This is all so lame.
