Last year I had a big fight with a family member who disapproved of me having a fifth child… “you could be doing so much more with your life” she told me.
I just cannot disagree more with her sentiment, and being flown to DC (with my lap baby and my 14 year old) last month to present my work at the inaugural Quantum Biology Forum really vindicated my position that I am “living my best life, YOLO” and all that stuff that usually goes along with birth control/divorce culture from WITHIN my get married, have kids, stay married culture… not that I have called her to gloat or anything.
I do very much believe it’s possible to have a large family and live a meaningful and productive life.
And it doesn’t require having a career, though I do.
I’m working on a post to share about my experience at the forum, copies of the poster I presented, and I’ll tag some new friends I made who also it turns out also have Substacks.
Stay tuned, and Go team Quantum!!!
