I am working on a personal writing project with claude.ai and I realized that I am creating a meta example for students about how to be in collaboration with AI and not lose your humanity. I made the observation in my chat with Claude and it replied:

“That’s the distinction that matters most in the AI and writing conversation. Not did a human or an AI write this but is the humanity present, is the thinking real, is the voice authentic?”

This seems like an essential question for faculty and students to grapple with together as we are thinking about the technological capabilities we are moving into.
