I was listening to Jefferson Starship’s “We Built This City” and I began feeling the history of the millions of men and women who provided back breaking labor, sweat, tears and many lives lost, who built the cities and country we live in today! Farmers, manufacturers, coal minors, construction, the train tracks built across this great country, the great wagon train folks that traveled to the then unknown western frontier and all of our infrastructure (and so much more) that we use daily and take for granted. How often do we truly reflect on the labor that so many people of all nationalities, race and background did to build what we have today? Not to mention the forced labor of slaves.
We, as American People benefit from this as we continue to develop, create and thrive in this 21st Century. It should no longer matter what political side we choose to be part of anymore… Throughout history there has been documented horrific atrocities everywhere from segregation, women’s rights, slavery (which we have a huge human trafficking issue today), the treatment of laborers of all types of folks, (the reason so many before us fought and even suffered tremendous loss to create Unions) wars & more… All you have to do is research history and it’s all there with just about every thing (not conspiracy actual documented facts).
Does our United States Government need changes and improvements? ABSOLUTELY! But to what cost? When I listened to this song today it made me think of all this and more.
We, the American People and our ancestors helped to build and maintain this country! US, EVERYDAY WORKING PEOPLE! We are Power because together People United , differences and all, have the power to start stopping the chaos that is happening now. To begin not only demanding changes to save and even better our government by educating ourselves and begin to choose honest, well rounded educated, caring young blood mixed with the knowledgeable, experienced older blood to start making it happen.
Right now there are so many ‘fires’ and disruptions being ripped apart all at once to keep us in shock, upset, confused and never knowing what each day will bring along with all that is happening in the world, tariffs, immigration, Ukraine war and so on. I believe, (and we also know it has been the plan) that these are also all diversions to keep us from stopping what is happening right under our very own feet. People are dealing with a multitude of serious life events all at once and somehow we have to join together as One Power of People helping one another and uniting for one cause during this chaotic time to stand and fight to get back our lives! My ancestors and yours have fought wars for the freedoms we have! It is being torn apart today!
Our country and being a proud United States Citizen is dying. Many will not agree and this is OK because I care about the wellbeing of you and your families just as much as my own… why? Because you and your ancestors are hard workers and have helped to make this country what it is also. It is bringing all the beliefs, opinions and differences together to come to a well rounded, good for all solution that can be tweaked here and there as needed and by keeping money💰 out of it. Money should be part of the outcome that benefits all people from the results.
Today we need to be singing at the top of our lungs while peacefully uniting as One Nation, One People - young, old, black, white, gay, transgender, sick, healthy, men, women, LQBTQ, any race, any nationality and any religion, “We Built This City! We Built This City! “ We The PEOPLE, US, WE, People Built This City and We will Choose the Politicians We NEED to Represent Us, The American Melting Pot of hard working citizens from generations before us to today. We the People are the Power of the United States of America…. We are the Power together. Money can buy anything! That is what is happening and has been happening for a long time now… Money is important but money is not what the People of this country Need RULING us. We need People of our choosing representing our best interests. Let us not loose any more of what we have before it is too late!
