At SAHA 2026, the major military fair in Istanbul, Ankara displayed the Yıldırımhan for the first time: Turkey's first intercontinental ballistic missile. A 6,000-kilometer range vector, theoretically capable of striking much of Europe, Asia, and Africa, developed directly by the research center of the Turkish Ministry of Defense and launched by Roketsan in front of foreign military delegations and international clients.

Behind the announcement is not just a new missile. There is the transformation of Turkey into an autonomous military-industrial power, increasingly less dependent on the West and more intent on selling technology, armaments, and geopolitical security. Drones, missiles, anti-drone systems, electronic warfare, integrated air defense: Ankara is building a complete war ecosystem and wants to be recognized as a central player in European and Mediterranean security.
