Italy just came to a standstill for Palestine. A nationwide general strike hit more than 75 cities, with huge crowds filling the streets in Milan, Naples, Florence and Turin. Transport, schools, ports and logistics were shut down for a full day. Port workers blocked arms shipments to Israel. Police used tear gas in Milan after clashes near the central station. The strike erupted after Meloni refused to recognize Palestine, and people responded with a clear message. Their demands:
Recognize Palestine
Stop all arms sales to Israel
Sanction Netanyahu’s government
End the genocide in Gaza now
