SAN FRANCISCO — The People Shut ICE Down at Secret Facility

Mainstream media didn’t cover it. So we will.

On a quiet weekend morning last month, ICE tried to pull a fast one — scheduling immigrant check-ins at an unmarked facility at 478 Tehama Street in San Francisco, hoping to avoid public scrutiny. No public announcement. No press advisory. Just quiet coercion in a city that’s long resisted ICE’s violent presence.

But the community wasn’t having it.

By 7AM, hundreds of people showed up to shut it all down. Activists, neighbors, immigrant rights organizers, and legal observers rallied in force, blocking entrances and making their message crystal clear:

ICE out of San Francisco. ICE out of everywhere.

This kind of sneak attack—changing tactics, hiding addresses, targeting immigrants on weekends—is exactly what happens when communities win. It means ICE is scared of the people. And they should be.

You didn’t see this on CNN or MSNBC. But you did see it on the streets, in the resistance, and in the refusal to let silence equal compliance.

The people are watching. The people are mobilized.

Money for jobs and education, not for war and deportations.
