⌛️ Melancholy #aesthetic: The Sky Crawlers (2008) Part I
After the Ghost in the Shell duology Mamoru Oshii continued his experiments with 3D — thus, by the end of the 2000s, a parable about eternal children and never-ending battles for the clouds appeared. The film premiered at the Venice Film Festival, where it was awarded precisely for its graphics (Future Film Festival Digital Award). Today, The Sky Crawlers looks even more topical, plus it is essentially the only major role in anime for Rinko Kikuchi (Tokyo Vice, Pacific Rim).
