It should be clear by now we are reaching the limits of emotional and physical violence. When the president threatens the negotiation in Iran with murdering the negotiators, we’re over our heads. If the Pentagon gets the trillion and a half dollar budget it’s asking for, America will be over. We will be so deep in surveillance that we will not recover. It should be clear by the stupid war in Iran that all the battleships and missiles and destructive forces are not going anywhere. They are bankrupting us morally, emotionally and financially. We need to cut the military budget in half. What they’re doing is making the military industrial complex rich. Instead of admitting that China is a competitor, but not an enemy, with which our economy is inextricably aligned. We use the threat of China to build more weapons, employ, more people in potential violence. For anyone who watched the opening of the Obama Library, you can see where the American people are. They are ready for joy. They are ready for community. They are ready to get on with peaceful, productive lives. It is our political class and corporate class and military industrial complex. That’s keeping the pot stirred, keeping the money flowing and becoming the major enemies to peace and the kind of nation we want to live in. Without massive displays of peaceful resistance, and I mean, massive, choking every street in every city, the message will never get through to the Congress, which is become a wholly owned subsidiary of money.
