The bullshit is beginning. The drumbeats to terrify the voters about the election of  Darializa Avila Chevalier to governance. Her statements as a college student are now evidence that she intends to send all Israelis to concentration camps and will give their homes, pools and cars back to Palestine. Let’s stop being stupid folks.

                  First of all Socialism is not Communism. It does not demand a centralized  dictation and control of the economy. Every one of our European and Scandinavian allies has been Socialist at one time or another and are currently serving their people to a degree that makes the US look like a piker. Socialism is basically Capitalism-with-Rules. The rules include controlling who and how much can be contributed to elections. They have ALL agreed to pull Healthcare, higher-education and many public-sector programs out of the profit-making matrix and their people are better served by their daycare, maternity leaves, and green policies.

                  The reason the many people are interested in Democratic Socialism is because they now know that Europeans have a much easier life than Americans—more supported for childcare, day-care, maternity leave, month long-to six-week annual vacations. They still have plenty of rich people and parts of the environment available to entrepeneurs.The boo-boo about Socialism just rings hollow. It is the war chant of the wealthy elites, who brainwash workers to believe that unregulated capitalism is the only option available.

                  Not all Jews are Zionists, including this author. Theirs is a war which has been going on for 70 years and horrors have been committed by both sides. No one in that struggle is pure and has no blood on their hands. The idea that Zionists are pure and the Palestinians are animals has been used as a cover for Israeli actions in Palestine and Gaza which is nearly as harmful to Jews as it is to Palestinians—the killing of journalists, the murdering of people in food lines and demonstrations.

 Too many American Jews feel guilty about not living in Israel and go all-in for anything that brave little State does. It sees every Israeli action, and its current Prime Minister through rose colored glasses and ignores the rightful claims of the Palestinians. The simple truth is that Judea (Israel) is the native home of both peoples, but one side is refusing to share. That side is primarily European and wins the support and loyalty of American and Europeans for that reason. That does not make what Zionism has done, correct, honorable or beyond reproach.

                  Chevalier is as entitled to her opinions,  as our moronic and perhaps cognitively challenged President. Trust me, her words have far less consequences and costs than his. She will be tempered by politics and reality, as he has not been. She will not have the power to make edicts based solely on her beliefs. If our politics were not owned by money, if our Congress was not a wholly owned subsidiary of big capital, if our politicians were free to vote their consciences, beliefs of people like her would be more tempered and less inflected with rage.

Let’s stop playing ‘gotcha’ and let Democratic Socialist have shot. Like women, like African-Americans, Like Latinos and Mexicans they have perspectives which could help us recognize all the populations of our Nation and care for the underserved. Let’s stop cutting them off at the knees for what they once said, and judge how they behave.

And while we’re about it, where’s the moral outrage about Nick Fuentes, the unelected Russel Vought, the chainsawing, ketamine shooting destroyer of agencies and international charity, Elon Musk. C’mon people.
