China's Ministry of Education just dropped a comprehensive AI education action plan. The most interesting part isn't the student-facing curriculum. It's the teacher-facing mandate.
AI will be incorporated into teacher certification exams. This signals Beijing understands the bottleneck. Buying hardware and writing textbooks is easy. Building a teaching workforce that actually understands AI is the hard part.
The plan also makes AI a required public course at all universities, pushes cross-disciplinary AI integration at every grade level, and sets 2030 as the deadline for a complete nationwide framework.
Worth watching how fast this moves from policy document to classroom reality.
