Today. After 20 years, I completed an examination of conscience, made a full confession, and re-entered the Catholic faith. Reflecting on 20 years worth of sin and wrongdoing in the eyes of the church was difficult, but also a gift to realize how much I have to be grateful for. I now believe we all have more people who want the best for us rather than the worst. Letting go and being absolved of 20 years of sin with extremely little penance asked in return was extremely humbling.
I know many on here will join my eye rolling: we have a sledding hill in our neighborhood that’s small, safe, and a source of utter joy for the 25 or so kids on our block. We can send them there without adults (big win) and it’s all just informal and fun and a little hub of their own world.
Well today, the morning after we got 6 inches, one of the childless neighbors came out and told them they can’t sled on it anymore (it’s not on her property, but in view of her house) because it bothers her …
