Notes

Many Christians interpret Jesus' words, "I am the way, the truth, and the life," as meaning, "If you're not a Christian, you're going to hell." However, this verse simply emphasizes the importance of accepting Jesus' teachings—no fancy religious label required.

By making this statement exclusive to one religion and using it to look down on others, they obscure the simple meaning of Jesus' words. They label those who don't outwardly appear Christian as infidels.

Are we the ones "puffed up with knowledge" or "killed by the letter"?

"Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up" (1 Corinthians 8:1)

"The letter kills, but the Spirit gives life" (2 Corinthians 3:6)

Are we truly as perfect in our faith as we claim? Would Jesus approve of this kind of discernment?
