An unidentified attacker slashed a Queer man across the face on a New York City subway train.
After witnessing the 28-year-old victim kiss his boyfriend, the attacker shouted an anti-gay slur and attacked him with a knife.
This is not an isolated incident. Reported hate crimes against Queer and Trans people in New York State have risen 12.7%.
When public queer affection becomes a trigger for violent retaliation, the problem isn’t visibility — it’s a society being conditioned to tolerate harm.
Silence doesn’t make this safer. It enables it.
