Re: Stefanik’s Gubernatorial Aspiration

“Protecting Pedos, Starving Children”  is platform that Stefanik, like her GOP colleagues, has chosen to run on. She has conspired with her leadership to delay the disclosure of the Epstein files. Justice delayed is, in truth, justice denied. Justice for many of the victims has been delayed for decades; each further day of delay is a further injustice.

And, she has supported the suspension of SNAP benefits due to the governing party’s inability to govern. Her actions are undeniably protecting pedophiles and exacerbating the food insecurity of her constituents. I believe that this alone should disqualify her from public office.

As a North Country resident, I have observed Stefanik to be a distant, negligent representative. I do not believe that she has held a town hall for years, and she seems to appear in the district only for ribbon-cuttings and Fort Drum events. I am not aware of any legislation that she has sponsored that addresses the needs of her rural, and relatively impoverished, district.

Her fervent, belated embrace of Trumpism should disqualify her forever from holding public office. Every Republican member Congress is thoroughly complicit in the evil and corruption that this administration is presently perpetrating. Apart from the most stupid, all are hypocrites. They abdicated their responsibilities and their powers to the direct and lasting harm of the country.

The only distinctive quality that Stefanik possesses is over-weening personal ambition. She has sacrificed her principles in the hopes of attracting the attention of an aging, mentally unstable felon. Her reward is the opportunity to run on the platform “I protect billionaire pedophiles even to the point of increasing the food insecurity of many of my constituents, those whose needs are greatest.”

And, here’s the kicker: the Epstein files are coming out. The discharge petition will soon be signed. The pedophiles will be exposed.  So the slogan becomes something like, “I wasn’t really protecting pedophiles, it was a foregone result, I was only following the dictates of my dear leader.” In that case, Stefanik appears to be running on a platform of “I Protect Pedophiles but only when Politically Expedient.”

Every Republican candidate will be joining Stefanik under the banner of “Protecting Pedophiles, Starving Children.” I think that the 2026 elections may be an extinction level election. If fair and free — our major task now is to ensure that they are.
