Make money doing the work you believe in

I’ve crunched the numbers and gone down the rabbit holes to figure this out & hear me out…

Let’s say we have the FDA join the world’s equivalent for drug and device testing boards (EU, Japan, etc.) and they can move as a single body approving drugs and devices globally, while making us all healthier and live longer.

This will allow the US to lower the cost of medications, giving us a win to negotiate drug costs. If a pharma company doesn’t want to offer it in the US at the same cost, we can get it from another country at a lower cost.

We could then use the cost savings for running these trials through the FDA, and put it back into healthcare. We would then increase taxes up to 40% for multi-millionaires, billionaires, and eliminate taxes for anyone making $30k annually (or less). We use the extra tax revenue + savings from FDA, to fund Medicare for All, but with a sliding max out-of-pocket of $0-$300/year.

Corporations will still have an employee tax, but we can make it a flat fee based on number of employees above and below the poverty line: more employees below the poverty line = a higher tax (and the coverage would be true).

Just my two cents - for the record, I have almost 3 decades of healthcare experience, 2 of which were patient facing, the last ~10 has been compliance, billing, and meaningful use. My degree is in healthcare administration with a minor in history. I’m open to have a good faith discussion on this in the thread.
