Fmr. Green Beret Anthony Aguilar speaks out about the Gaza Riviera Plan
Under my specific experience with the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, there was a map in the Israeli liaison office from the Coordinating Office of the Governance of the Territories. It's called COGAT.
COGAT controls everything that goes in and out of Gaza, everything. So when the conversation is that the UN isn't going in, or the UN refuses to go in, or that the UN doesn't have the capacity to go in, that is a lie. That is an absolute lie. I have seen the stacks of requests for organisations, to include mine and others, to go into, into Gaza that is denied by COGAT. They control all of it.
And there was a map on the wall that had this rendering, if you will. You would see a real estate developer with a rendering of what a, a future neighborhood would look like if they're building new homes of this Gaza Riviera.
High-speed rail, golf courses, resorts, a, a riviera built through the center of Gaza via a canal of which the Salah ad-Din Road would be carved out of.
Not only is this a genocide, this is an ethnocide in terms of trying to erase Palestinian history and culture.
It's a small point to make, but the Salah ad-Din Road that runs through the middle of Gaza that connects Egypt all the way up into Lebanon has been there since 479 BC.
It is a part of our world history and it has been erased, gone, dug out of the ground and it's not on maps anymore. And that's where the Riviera will be built.
The problem that I saw when seeing that plan is that that plan was developed in 2021, not after October 7th, 2023, not in 2024 when we felt that we had to go in and the United States had produced this Gaza Humanitarian Foundation two years before. That's concerning, and US lawmakers knew of it and were a part of it, funded it.
