U.S. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has resigned.

She announced the decision on X, saying it will take effect on June 30. Gabbard cited the need to support her husband, who has been diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer.

Earlier in April, several media outlets, reported that Gabbard was among the officials considered for dismissal amid tensions related to the war with Iran and dissatisfaction within Trump’s circle over media coverage of the conflict.

First, I do not know what the real reason for her “resignation” is, but I am truly sorry that she is dealing with her husband’s cancer. I am praying for his recovery and for many healthy years of life ahead.

Second, Gabbard’s resignation itself is good news. She has repeatedly acted as a russian sympathizer, spreading conspiracy theories about U.S. biolabs in Ukraine and blaming NATO for russia’s invasion. She spoke strongly against sanctions on russia in 2022 and appeared at the 2023 “Rage Against the War Machine” event, which was filled with russian apologists and Putin sympathizers.

She has consistently blamed the West for global instability while portraying russia as a victim merely “defending itself.”

So yes, I am very glad that she is gone.
