Why I didn’t attend the Rededicate 250.

I was invited by several friends and officials in Washington DC to attend a 250-year rededication of America to God. But for some reason, it felt wrong.

The whole thing felt like blatant hypocrisy.

We are “rededicating” America to God while abandoning the Godly principles of caring for the widow, the orphan, and the stranger.

We are celebrating freedom while abandoning our allies who are fighting for their very existence at this very moment.

We are proclaiming God’s rule while worshiping idols and building gold statues to morally bankrupt leaders.

Faith is not measured by ceremonies, slogans, or public spectacles. It is measured by truth, compassion, humility, courage, and the willingness to stand with the vulnerable even when it is inconvenient.

“The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today is Christians who acknowledge Jesus with their lips, walk out the door, and deny Him by their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable.” — Brennan Manning
