During Russia’s attack on Ukraine, a drone struck an apartment building in the Romanian city of Galați.

Galați is located near the border with Ukraine’s Odesa region. Two people were injured in the explosion, and 70 residents were evacuated from the damaged building.

Romania’s Defense Ministry stated that the drone had been detected by radar before the impact. After hitting the roof of the building, the UAV exploded, with its entire warhead likely detonating.

Preliminary reports indicate the drone was a Russian Geran-2. The two injured victims were taken to hospital.
