One way to endure is through inspiration, especially in the form of art. The word “inspiration” derives from the Latin “inspirare” which means “to breathe or blow into,” stemming from the root “spirare,” meaning “to breathe.” I believe art is one of the purest forms of inspiration and can be one of the most effective tools we have in the fight against authoritarianism because it breathes light and courage into our fight for humanity and democracy.
