This kind of comment induces sadness and pity in me more than anger. It is a public acknowledgement of never having met or interacted with a woman of sound judgment; one who actually can clearly “see with her own eyes” who the “alpha” is and one who is a good reliable judge of men’s character. It is the kind of chimpanzee chest-thumping at having successfully bred all good sense and reason out of the women of your own tribe. If there is a modicum of introspection left in the head after pleasing oneself with such fancies, one has to realize how sad and miserable such a state of affairs actually is.

Even where men ostensibly have the last word on judging women and they have the last word on judging men too, the real “alpha”, so to speak, always chooses the woman who is capable of choosing well for herself over one who isn’t. This is because a perspective on male hierarchies that sits outside of the hierarchies themselves is what allows for new avenues of creativity and innovation. This is what makes us human, above all the rest of the primates that are being cited as example. A willful selection toward the kind of women described in the comment is a state of regress and rotting stagnation.

Any intelligent high calibre man realizes all this on an instinctual level, no matter what his social status is, and it is ironic and depressing that this needs to be spelled out in such terms by a woman. You actively put out a deafening signal against women’s active agency and good judgement and then are somehow shocked and outraged at the dismal choices made by the women that you chose to surround yourself with. What kind of a diabolical hellscape is this? Just try and step outside of it once.

Great observation about female sexual selection from someone discussing our article elsewhere. I have made a similar point before:

Why would any woman even be qualified to judge whether her man is alpha or not? The very idea is the essence of insolence.

Quite often in war ordinary quiet humble men perform amazing acts of heroism and darin…
