Oregon just passed a bill requiring AI companions to tell users they are not human. It passed the Senate 26 to 1.

SB 1546 requires AI companion platforms to disclose that users are talking to software. It requires them to detect suicidal ideation and prevent output that could cause it. If the user is a minor, additional protections apply. If a user suffers harm, they can sue.

These are not advanced requirements. They are the minimum.
