There’s a whole class of issues people struggle to believe in because they could technically be solved by locking the person in a controlled environment where they were no longer allowed to make their own decisions

I am always low-productivity on the day that I post a Substack, because I always have to soothe the after-posting feeling that this is the day I have finally been exposed as a hack, with the result that all my social status will be withdrawn by the central committee.

This hasn’t diminished much since I’ve started writing online, mostly I’ve just gotten better at handling it.
