Since there are hundreds of new friends on here, I thought I would re-introduce myself to you.

I am obsessed with theology and I write about it every day.

I want to become a better theologian and I want to help you do the same.

honestly, this gives me real “Do you not fear God?” chills

I started sending the Pope an occasional letter or card during my college years, back when Pope Benedict XVI was the Pope, and nowadays I send the current Pope a Christmas card every Christmas, a custom I began under Pope Benedict XVI’s pontificate and that I have continued under Pope Francis. I also sometimes send a letter to the Pope asking for prayers for particular people.

One of my favorite memories of Pope Francis is when I wrote to him asking to pray for a friend of mine and their family …

A small child slipped through the White House fence before being intercepted by the U.S. Secret Service. One shows an armed agent carrying the toddler across the lawn before passing him to another agent and eventually back to his family “without incident.” There was no threat to security.
