Getting ready to publish my 100th newsletter soon, and I had one more question squeak in under the wire from Emilee Russell:

And of course, my brain knew the answer and I didn’t want to listen. I thought, “Vivienne Westwood! Jean Paul Gaultier! Geoffrey Beene! Dries Van Noten!” but I’ve own only a few pieces from Dame Viv, JPG, Beene (the master) and Dries…so how could I even consider wearing only one of them for the rest of eternity?

I really can’t! I don’t want to limit what I wear to just one designer!

[This question is of course tricky for me since 95% of what I buy is secondhand, and not driven by brands AT ALL. Emilee knows this, I think, so isn’t she the crafty one?? Good question!]

So I said, “OKAY, BRAIN, ya got me. Let ‘er rip.” And the answer was easy.

I pick John Fluevog. I would happily wear Fluevog shoes till the end of time.

Adding visual evidence with a few pictures from my last closet swap-over, with most of my fall/winter shoes lined up down the hall, plus my “after” shot of my walking shoes shelf (don’t look at the bear). There are 22 pairs of Fluevogs in the first picture, 14 in the second, and 3 pairs on the bookshelf, for a total of 39 pairs. And that doesn’t include the two pairs of “kinky boots” from last year, my First Pair, or any of the spring/summer boots not unpacked and on display now in my closet. I’ve easily had 200+ pairs over the years.
