On Tuesday, the Trump regime imposed visa bans on a former EU commissioner and anti-disinformation activists, alleging censorship of US social media.

This scandalous move has clearly been lobbied for by the American far right, which constitutes a significant element of the current US administration.

Europe must hit back in three ways:

- finalise the Commission’s investigation into X’s non-compliance with the EU’s Digital Services Act regarding the dissemination of illegal content and the use of dark algorithms;

- impose travel bans on five most notorious representatives of the American techno-fascist oligarchy;

- urgently build Europe’s own social media infrastructure, grounded in transparency, community autonomy, and public value.
