When Hamish mentioned the ‘dumpster fire’ of online political discourse, he should have said “for an example, see the comments on this article.”

I exist in Literature Substack, and Creative Substack, which are absolutely lovely places to hang out. But you don’t have to venture far to start encountering extremely strange and slightly broken folk.

Thinking that Substack is immune to the worst of the internet is wishful thinking, alas.
