There is no record of the Catholic Church officially condemning Pope Innocent VIII, even though he initiated a witchcraft persecution that led to tens of thousands of women and girls — some as young as nine — being tortured and later burned at the stake. Every century has seen abominable acts committed by the rulers of the Catholic Church. So why no condemnation from today’s supposedly enlightened, reform-minded popes? Because they don’t want to openly admit that papal infallibility is nonsense.
