Hi Dave:
If you don’t mind, could you please let me know the congressional district where you vote.
I live in Wheelersburg ohio in scioto county, U. S. A.
I am also a pole worker. I am a retired science teacher for people who learn differently. I am interested in your comments and thoughts.
I am more of a “poetic naturalist” similar to what Sean Carroll talks about in his book “The big picture”. I think his concept of naturalism is outstanding, rational and logical.
If you’re not US citizen they’re still our ways you can help
I'm a citizen
My hobbies are studying neurology, how the brain works and why influence and manipulation play such a significant role in triggering feelings to create opinions that are untrue or unsupported by evidence. Pretty much, the only definition of facts for me is knowledge based on evidence.
I'm also a writer.
As Scott Adams warned us “Think Bigly: perception in a world where facts don't matter”. This comment is so scary.
I am very interested in what you are doing. What is your opinion of equal opportunity and civil rights (I don't believe an imaginary god thing can grant rights)
In my opinion, people who want to impose the cultural zeitgeist of 10,000 BCE on citizens of the 21st century is barbaric.
All law is cultural, geographical and situationally dependent. No such thing as timeless or forever morality, but biological and social synergy is real. Our brains need social interaction and our species needs to teach ourselves a sustainable lifestyle that doesn't kill all of us or our planet. I don't plan on waiting around until some story-God saves us.
Certainly religion could be a great placebo if people who stop using it to control our choices. I think that 19th century “Powell memo” inspired “seven mountains mandate”, giving up control of everything to giant corporations who don't give a shit about the average person is a terrible idea.
Myths and stories are just myths and stories, not an accurate history or in anyway science based. Most of these are based on domination by high controlling authoritarian types.
I still have a substack I started but decided writing a book was more important for me. But I am interested in learning more about moderate, compassion-based philosophy can be created that helps everyone to stop fighting and frees us from that deep seated scarcity belief left in our brain since the Stone Age.
