There are media reports that Donald Trump has ordered the Department of Defense to plan for an attack on NATO, and the Kingdom of Denmark by drawing up invasion plans for Greenland.

I have a piece of advice for every General, Lieutenant General, Brigadier General, Admiral, Vice Admiral and Rear Admiral involved in the planning.

It’s great advice.

Take a moment and set some time aside for a family activity.

Read Justice Robert Jackson’s opening statement at the “Nuremberg Trials.”

Read it with your spouse and children.

Talk it through.

Read it slowly and linger on the parts that focus on the conspiracies that began aggressive war.

Maybe even read them twice.

Next, read the opening arguments of the chief British prosecutor Sir Hartley Shawcross.

The plans being ordered by the criminal Trump are in fact criminal and the people planning the crimes are engaged in a conspiracy against the peace of the world which is something that reading the opening statements can help the brass think through.

There should be no surprises at the gallows.
