conservative art often presents as nostalgic or mawkish, so perhaps it isn’t being perceived where it does exist. e.g. Brideshead Revisited is one of the most obvious conservative fantasies

this, like the performance Harris writes about, is brisk and wonderful, reads (at least to me) a lot like Harold Bloom riffing on Hamlet, and I agree with every word*
