The PACT Act — healthcare for veterans exposed to toxic burn pits — still had to crawl through Congress under the same old excuse:
“How are we gonna pay for it?”
Funny how that question disappears for massive tax cuts that cost exponentially more.
And no — the last-minute Republican votes weren’t some grand bipartisan moment. There were no major changes to the bill.
They knew blocking healthcare for veterans was politically indefensible, so many flipped at the last second to save face.
Veterans shouldn’t have to beg for care after serving this country.
