I just watched JD Vance’s presser on the tragedy in Minneapolis. It was, quite simply, a totalitarian performance. The purposeful eradication of truth in pursuit of power - denying what we see with our own eyes - is the essence of fascism. And Vance gets better at it all the time.

We are not in danger of an authoritarian future. We are living in an authoritarian present, fueled with the love of raw violence that typifies fascist movements.

It is happening here. It is absolutely happening here.
