It seems painfully difficult to fight the most lawless regime, in fact, the only truly professionally lawless regime in American history. Laws against lawlessness never imagined by the framers. A level of criminality so far beyond the conception of the Founding Fathers that they did not go far enough.
Sure, Watergate was a scandal and brought down Nixon. But - it was the COVER UP of a THIRD-RATE BURGLARY that triggered it. A mere burglary for data, not ransom, not control over other countries, that brought Nixon down. It seems rather quaint today, the level of outrage then.
I was in my early twenties and watched all the hearings. Now in my late 70s, here I am again.
