As the UCP faces one of the largest alleged corruption scandals in Canadian history, they’ve once again fallen back on distraction politics 101. Albertans are increasingly seeing through the gaslighting and non-answers to the real issues that matter.
Public healthcare is bursting at the seams with emergency rooms in crisis, some of the longest wait times in the country, and patients waiting weeks or even months for critical care. Public education remains chronically underfunded — Alberta still has the lowest per-student spending in Canada — forcing the government to legislate teachers back to work instead of properly funding our schools to match the rest of the country…. the list goes on!
All of this while the province is now projecting a $4.1 billion deficit for 2025-26 and a massive $9.4 billion deficit for 2026-27, with billions more in red ink expected in the years ahead.
The real question Albertans should be asking is: With essential public services crumbling and record deficits piling up, where exactly is our money going?
